Lego Movie Poster: Devil Wears Prada

This is very obvious which movie is it right?

A. Yes
B. No
C. What are you talking about?

For A,
Because it is a lego project, and it's supposed to be fun, I make it in a way that is cute and cartoony, instead of feminine and devil-like. And for Those of you who are curious about the photography, I simply put the finished artwork on the base of a 27 inch apple desktop. It's silver. It has a curve. Therefore, it is a natural studio background. I didn't use any artificial light other than pulling up some curtains.

For B,
Well, I guess you're not a girl. Come back next week if you are still curious and the answer will be in the title.

For C,
Not every blog is for you, such as this one. But feel free to browse other entries here.

Lego Blocks

OK, this doesn't look too interesting. The yellow block is a 1x1 block, and the white one is a 1x1 plate. But it was fun building.

First of all, a scale has to be worked out. How many studs will there on the surface? What is the scale of the actual stud on top, and how to build it round? How many layers of block is there to make it long enough to match the actual ratio? I actually put the text LEGO on top of the stud, but decided it didn't look good with the rest of the surface all studded instead of smooth. It is a good practice I suggest more builders try out.

Lego Movie Poster: Gravity

Hey guys, here's the second movie poster I built with lego. Rules are the same (although so far nobody has guessed the first one yet).

Let's hear some hint this time,
a. This movie has won oscars
b. It's a science fiction
c. Look at the picture above again!

em… should be enough clues to work the answer out.

Lego for the Oscar

2013 proves to be a really good year for film industry. Although a lot of big names went into TV industry, films (more importantly, scripts) that excite people still came in great quantity.

Ellen was funny. Among the awards, the best original screenplay and the best leading female are my two favourites. So here's a Lego oscar statue to add in the celebration.

I thought it would be nice to build the whole statue in yellow, but unfortunately I didn't own enough yellow pieces. So I had to add in other colour pieces and use them creatively. I'm quite happy with the result---the chest are in blue and green, shoulders and arms in red, the rest in yellow and white to give it a layer. The different colours give shapes to different parts.

Lego Movie Poster: American Beauty

Years ago, I got into the habit of combining hobbies together. The picture above is actually the combination of three hobbies-----Lego, movies and photography. Though I'm trying to drive each of them somewhere, the pleasure of seeing them altogether is great.

I'd like to invite you, however you come across this page, to guess which movie poster is this? For the sake of the viewers after you, please just leave a "Yes" if you get it, or a "No" if you don't. Or you can leave anything, except for the answer. Next Monday I'll put the answer in the title.
